Our staff is friendly, courteous and compassionate, as well as up to date on the latest techniques to best care for your pet. Here at Animal House, we have a staff of well-trained professionals who will treat your pets with unconditional love and care. Your pets’ health is our responsibility, and we will make sure your pet gets the best care possible.
VETERINARIANS
Dr. Sherry Torregrossa
Dr. Torregrossa was born and raised in south St. Louis County, a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1985. After pursuing an undergraduate degree in English literature and preveterinary classes, she entered the Veterinary School at the University of Missouri at Columbia, and was awarded her degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Since that time she has been practicing small animal medicine and surgery in and around the St. Louis area. Dr. Torregrossa recently acquired Animal House Veterinary Hospital in 2005 and is currently the sole proprietor.
Management
Jeff Townsend
Jeff Townsend is Office Manager for our sister hospital, 12th St. Animal Hospital and Boutique and Animal House Veterinary Hospital and Heads or Tails Grooming. Jeff is also our Boutique Coordinator at 12th St. He has experience in both Education and Retail. He holds an undergraduate degree in Foreign Language Education and has completed the major coursework for the doctorate in Quantitative Methods in Educational Measurement and Research. Having taught statistics and measurement at the graduate level for ten years, he decided to put his number skills to work in the retail field. Jeff has five adorable cats, Precious, Sheeba, Luvee, Slinky, and Colin who serve as colleagues in his Antiques business. When Jeff is not antiquing with his colleagues, he is busy tailoring the 12th Street Boutique to the needs and desires of our very important clients and their owners.
VETERINARY ASSISTANTS
All of our veterinary assistants are highly trained. They focus on patient comfort, ensuring that every animal that stays has a warm, comfortable, clean cage with classical music in the background. They are continually monitoring every patient for any discomfort, so that appropriate medication can be given to control their discomfort.
Toni
Toni graduated from Midwest Institute in 1991 with a degree in veterinary assistance. She has been a veterinary assistant in small animal practices in Missouri and Illinois for more than 16 years. She and Dr. Torregrossa have worked together for more than 7 years. She too was raised in south St. Louis County, and joined Animal House Veterinary Hospital in 2005. She brings an enormous amount of love and compassion to our patients every day. Her vast experience allows her to provide the most excellent level of care for the patients to which she tends. Toni has a special interest in animal behavior, and will be glad to discuss any behavior problem you may be having with your pet, anything from aggression to housetraining, etc. The staff lovingly calls her "Mama Toni" because she also spends her time taking care of the staff as well.
Danyil
Georgianne
Georgianne has been a veterinary assistant for over seven years. She is originally from Missouri, but began her career as a veterinary assistant while living in New Orleans. She worked in the veterinary field in New Orleans for four years and then relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas and continued her career as a veterinary assistant for another 3 years. She recently returned back home to Missouri and has joined our staff at Animal House Veterinary hospital. She has brought with her an enormous amount of experience, a passion for animals, a great smile and sense of humor we all love! Georgianne has a three year old son Dylan; one dog, Danny; two cats Cheyenne and Raven; and a lop eared rabbit named Frankie.
Receptionist
Dawn
Dawn is receptionist at Animal House Veterinary Hospital. Dawn is new to the veterinary field. She previously supervised the Employee Training and Development Program for St. Louis ARC as well as managed the bulk foods department for Wild Oats Market. She has a golden retriever named Merlin who has a thyroid disorder and food allergies. She and her husband Matt cook all of Merlin's food and treats in order to cater to his special needs. Her son Orion plans to become a veterinarian when he is older.

Anthony
Anthony Meyer is a jack-of-all trades. He can do anything from cleaning up a spill to assisting with surgical procedures. He has a sincere affection for all animals. He gets along great with his co-workers and his bosses. He is great with people, as well as animals, and can be trusted to do most any job for the veterinary hospital.
